LOGGING TRUCK LOADS and 4-CORD LOG LOADS
If you like the idea of saving some hard-earned money and cutting up your own firewood, here are
some great options!
LOGGING TRUCK LOADS: Many people find this convenient if they need a large quantity of
wood, if they are outside our normal firewood delivery areas, or if they want to split a load with a
neighbor or friend. These are delivered by a logging truck that has the capability to off-load the
logs at your location; however, keep in mind the size of a logging truck when scheduling a
delivery; you must have quite a bit of room for these big trucks to maneuver.
Logging truck loads are often sold as "long" or "short" loads, depending on the length of the legs,
long logs being 30-33' and short logs being 16-20' lengths. These loads are loaded to the legal
weight limit for the truck and average 74-78,000 pounds per load (with the truck included in that),
so please note, there is never a guaranteed cord count associated with these loads. They average
9-11 cords per load and will be loaded to legal weight/height, regardless of length of the logs.
Since they are loaded to the legal limit of weight for the trucks, heavier woods will get to
maximum weight sooner than lighter woods, and cord counts will change accordingly.
